INTERNATIONAL COACH WEBINAR

THE OUTREACH BLUEPRINT: MOVING FROM INITIAL ACCESS TO LONG-TERM PLAYER RETENTION

ABOUT TODAY'S WEBINAR

Any successful tennis programme needs effective ways of introducing kids to the sport, but also needs pathways and strategies to keep them in the sport.

Chris is an LTA Level 4 Senior Performance Coach and has spent over 20 years on court, a journey that has taken him from being the first coach for Francesca Jones (currently ranked just outside the WTA 100) to co-founding G Tennis with his wife, Catherine Dibble. G Tennis is an award-winning programme based in London and the South East of England.

While he's worked at every level of the game, his heart is at the grassroots. Through their charity, Young Champs, he specialises in taking tennis into communities that usually wouldn't get a look-in. His real passion is the "beginner-to-player” journey, specifically taking groups of 6 and 7-year-olds from their first swing to the point where they can rally and compete in their first match.

In this session, Chris aims to move past the theory and talk about the reality: what it actually takes to build trust in a local community, how to make inclusion a practice rather than a buzzword, and how that approach led them to being named Best Park Provider in the UK.
