Three classes for all skill levels!

Chess Is Best Sunday Classes with Miss Stacia offer a fun, structured environment for students of all skill levels. Whether your child is brand new to chess or already competing in tournaments, each class includes engaging instruction, personalized coaching, practice games, take-home worksheets, progress check-ins, and fun prizes! All classes are designed to help students build confidence and improve.

At the end of the session, the players will have the opportunity to compete for trophies and will receive a chess medal, followed by a family-friendly awards celebration with refreshments. My goal is simple: inspire every child to enjoy chess, build real skills, and improve!

Chess Fundamentals for K-8

Learn basic strategy and tactics with Miss Stacia

Chess Fundamentals is designed for students who already know how to play a legal game of chess and are ready to dig into basic strategy and tactics. Every week will have a theme such as basic tactics including forks, pins, and skewers; opening principles; common checkmate patterns; and attacking ideas. Students will also learn how to record their games using chess notation, use a chess clock, and play practice games in a structured environment.

The goal of Chess Fundamentals is to help students become confident and gain the chess knowledge they need to be fully prepared to enter their first rated chess tournament!  The session culminates in a fun tournament day where students can test their skills and compete for trophies!
