Berkeley Circle #4: Equanimity: The Quiet Virtue
In a world of constant change, uncertainty, and emotional intensity, how do we remain fully engaged with life without being overwhelmed by it?
Join Margaret Cullen and Dr. Roger N. Walsh for an intimate conversation exploring equanimity—the quiet strength that allows us to meet life's joys and difficulties with greater balance, openness, and compassion.
Margaret Cullen is a licensed psychotherapist and meditation practitioner with more than 45 years of experience. A pioneer in bringing contemplative practices into mainstream settings, she co-developed Compassion Cultivation Training at Stanford University and is the founder of Compassion Corps and Mindfulness-Based Emotional Balance. She is a Mind & Life Fellow, founding faculty member of the Compassion Institute, and author of Quiet Strength: Find Peace, Feel Alive, and Love Boundlessly through the Power of Equanimity.
Dr. Roger N. Walsh is Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry, Philosophy, and Anthropology at the University of California, Irvine. His work has explored meditation, consciousness, psychological well-being, and the relationship between contemplative traditions and modern psychology. For decades, he has been an influential voice in bringing together psychological inquiry and the world's wisdom traditions.
Can we cultivate a mind that remains open and steady—even when life is not?
