Building Your Network of Mentors, Sponsors & Collaborators

Thu, Oct 15, 2026, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM MDT

We’re excited to invite you to an upcoming NCFDD Mentorship Learning Event, designed to help you think intentionally about the network of mentors, sponsors, and collaborators you need to thrive throughout your academic career.

Mentoring Learning Event: Building a Network of Mentors, Sponsors, and Collaborators and NCFDD Mentoring Resources Overview

Date: October 15th

Time: 11 am to 12 pm Location/Zoom

Modeled on NCFDD’s Core Curriculum webinars, this one-hour interactive event brings faculty together for an engaging and practical professional development experience. Facilitated by NCFDD’s Partner Success Director and former Associate Professor, the session will provide an opportunity to learn, reflect, and connect with colleagues while exploring research-informed strategies designed specifically for the realities of academic life.

During our time together, you will:

● Identify the different types of mentors, sponsors, and collaborators that can support your professional goals

● Work with colleagues to reflect on and develop your Mentoring Map

● Share experiences, insights, and common mentorship challenges

● Explore practical strategies for building and strengthening meaningful professional relationships

● Leave with concrete next steps for cultivating your own network of support

In addition, we will walk through a curated list of NCFDD’s mentoring resources.

Before the Event: To make the most of our time together, please watch Cultivating Your Network of Mentors, Sponsors & Collaborators and complete a draft of the Mentoring Map before the session. Please bring your Mentoring Map with you so you can reflect on it and continue developing it during the event.

Rather than simply introducing new ideas, this event is designed to help you translate those ideas into action. You’ll leave with practical strategies and a concrete plan you can immediately apply while also strengthening connections with colleagues across your institution.

We look forward to learning together and supporting you as you build a meaningful and sustainable network of mentors, sponsors, and collaborators.
