Join us for our fourth annual Fall in Literacy conference!

This conference is aimed for educators, learning resource educators, speech language pathologists, literacy coordinators, reading specialists, families and anyone else who works and supports children with their literacy development. Join us as we dive and explore areas of early literacy intervention, adapted literacy, assessments and the latest knowledge in the areas of literacy development, reading and writing with structured literacy.

This year our keynote speakers are three literacy leaders from New Brunswick (Anglophone School District West) who are committed to improving literacy outcomes through evidence-informed instruction, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and system-wide capacity building. The team consists of one K–5 Literacy Coordinator, Signe Williams and two K–5 Literacy Coaches, Shyanne McWilliams  & Tracy Davis who work collaboratively to support schools in strengthening Tier 1 instruction, implementing structured literacy practices, and using data to drive instructional decision making.

The team was recognized nationally as the recipient of the Dyslexia Canada Educational Excellence Award for its leadership and impact in advancing literacy outcomes in 2024-2025. They have presented their work at the IDA Ontario Literacy and Learning Conference (April 2026), research ED Atlantic Canada (2025), and NB Lead (2025), sharing practical approaches to literacy improvement, prevention-focused MTSS, and sustainable system change.

The keynote session explores the instructional and system-level practices that lead to improved literacy outcomes for students. Participants will examine the principles of structured literacy, key findings from the science of learning, and the role of explicit instruction in accelerating student achievement. A central focus of the day will be strengthening Tier 1 instruction as the foundation of an effective Multi-Tiered Systems of Support framework for Literacy, recognizing that the greatest impact on student outcomes occurs when high-quality, evidence-informed instruction is provided to all learners.

Day two we will have four break out sessions, providing attendees choose one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
