Join us in this 3 day bootcamp for an introduction to the art Acting.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS WORKSHOP IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR THOSE WHO LIVE OR ATTEND SCHOOL IN THE CITY OF RYDE

Skills We Will Learn Together

• Developing original ideas, characters, settings and storylines.
• Exploring structure, genre, theme and narrative voice.
• Learning the back bone of storytelling and the arc of a storyline.
• Practice writing a monologue
• Exploring imagery, sensory detail, metaphor and other literary techniques.
• Building tension, conflict and emotional depth.
• Experimenting with different forms, including short stories, scripts, and personal writing.
• Editing and refining work through feedback and guided discussion with the teaching artist.
• Practise delivering their monologues in front of an audience. Develop their public speaking skills by sharing their work in an end-of-day presentation for family and friends.

Age: Students in School Years 7-9 in 2026

Dates: Tuesday 6th October - Thursday 8th October 2026

Time: 9:30am -12:30pm, daily

Venue: TBC

Performance Details:

Date: Wednesday 30th September 2026

Time: 12:10pm

Venue: TBC

Duration: Approximately 20mins.

Cost

This is a free course, however, fees will be applied for late pick up. Please pick up your student promptly or inform the office if they are ok to make their own way home.
