Are You the Next Winslow Homer? There’s Only One Way to Find Out!

Explore the fundamentals of watercolor in this six-week beginner course. Students will learn transparent watercolor techniques while painting skies, mountains, trees, landscapes, and water. Practice color mixing, layering, and working from broad shapes into fine details while creating a color wheel for future reference. Bring your own reference photos and discover the possibilities of watercolor!
 
Instructor: Monica Bauer
Monica Bauer, raised in Great Falls, has always loved art. She studied under Sister Mary John Beyers who was a humility nun at Great Falls Central High School. She received a Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of Montana and then received her master's degree in art history at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she also worked at the museum for a number of years. After Chicago, she moved to Brooklyn and worked at the Pratt Institute art school, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and taught at Parsons School of Design and a few other schools.
