Something good is happening on Grandview Avenue — and we'd love for you to be part of it.

On September 26, Dear Garment House steps outside its future doors and into the neighborhood for the Festival for Good at the Grandview Hop (5-9pm) — one of Columbus's most beloved community celebrations. We'll be running two booths right in front of the house: one introducing families to Columbus Fashion Academy and what our young fashion artists are building, and one fundraising through our Vintage Archive, where every sale supports our mission.

This is our first public moment as Dear Garment House. We want it to feel like us — creative, warm, intentional, joyful, and full of purpose.

To make it happen, we need a small crew of people who believe fashion can be a superpower. That's where you come in.

🗓️ Choose Your Shift

Shift 1 · 1:00–3:00pm — Organize & Tag
Help us prepare the vintage archive for the pop-up: tagging garments, organizing the clothing racks by category, making signs, setting jewelry displays up and getting everything ready so the booth feels curated and intentional. This is a behind-the-scenes, detail-oriented shift — perfect if you love a good organizing project.

Shift 2 · 3:00–5:00pm — Load In & Set Up
This is the muscle shift. Help us carry rolling racks, folding tables, dress forms, and equipment from inside the house to the booth footprint on the sidewalk. We'll be building out two full booth setups before the festival opens. Good energy and comfortable shoes required.

Shift 3 · 5:00–7:30pm — Run the Booths (Early)
The festival is live! Choose your role:

• 🎨 CFA Kids Booth — Engage families with games and hands-on activities that show what our young fashion artists do every day. You'll be passing flyers, answering questions about our programs and our sustainability mission, and inviting kids and caregivers into our sustainable fashion world making fashion for good. Familiarity with CFA programs is helpful — we'll brief all volunteers before the festival opens.
• 👗 Vintage Archive Fundraiser — Help shoppers find pieces they love from our rolling racks of curated vintage and upcycled clothing for kids and adults. Every sale goes directly back into our mission. Great for anyone who loves people, fashion, and a good story.

Shift 4 · 7:30–10:00pm — Run the Booths (Late) + Strike
Same roles as Shift 3, but you'll see the festival through to the end. After 9:00pm, we'll carefully pack everything back inside Dear Garment House together — racks, tables, dress forms, and all. This shift ends when the house is tucked back in.

🚗 Parking & Getting Here

Important: The Dear Garment House parking lot is accessible until 1:00pm only and reopens after 9:00pm. During festival hours, the lot (and the entire Avenue) is closed to accommodate the event footprint.

If you're arriving for Shift 2, 3, or 4, please plan to park on the street:

• 1st Avenue (by the Grandview Heights Public Library) is one block away and a great option
• Street parking is available throughout the surrounding neighborhood
• Taking the bus or biking? Check the Festival for Good website for transit directions, and Grandview Hop free bus plus any parking guidance: festivalforgood.org

Every volunteer who join us will be entered into a drawing for a $25 Dear Garment House Gift Card — redeemable toward shopping our Vintage Archive or applied to any Academy program. Just a little fun token of appreciation. We're grateful.
