Acrylic Painting: Landscape and Figure with Andrew Sookrah
Course Overview: Join artist Andrew Sookrah for a six-week online painting course exploring a variety of subjects, including rocks, water, trees, skies, urban landscapes and figures in the landscape.
Through demonstrations and guided practice, Andrew will explore drawing techniques, shape and form, tonal values, composition, perspective, colour, texture and effective brushwork. You’ll learn how to use vibrant colour, shifts in colour temperature and loose, expressive brushstrokes to bring greater energy and life to your paintings while developing your own personal style.
Andrew’s overhead camera provides a close-up view of his painting and palette, allowing you to clearly see his colour mixing, techniques and brushwork. Each session will include demonstrations as well as group and individual guidance and feedback. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or experienced acrylic painter, you’ll be guided through a supportive process designed to build your confidence and skills while working towards completing at least four paintings over the six weeks.
All sessions will be recorded and shared with participants the following day, along with session notes and images of Andrew’s completed demonstrations.
