Contemporary Impressionism: Landscape Painting by Luke Despatie

Course Overview: Immerse yourself in the expressive world of Contemporary Impressionist Landscape Painting in this five-week, studio-based course. Building on concepts introduced in previous classes, this course explores more intermediate techniques in landscape painting, including composition, value, colour and brushwork, while delving into advanced techniques for capturing light, atmosphere and emotion.

Through demonstrations, guided exercises and personalized feedback, you’ll learn how to translate landscapes into paintings alive with dynamic movement and vibrant colour. Discussions on materials, techniques and approaches will give you the tools to confidently develop your own Impressionist style.

Returning participants will have the opportunity to explore new material and continue building their skills, while newcomers are equally welcome and do not need to have taken a previous course.
