This training we will identify what trauma-based behaviors look like, briefly exploring the research and science behind dysregulation, the brain and how clients might present having experienced traumatic events, short-term and long-term at key points in their life. Participants will work together both in small groups and large groups, role-playing trauma informed interventions, specifically related to de-escalation in crisis situations. Examples of this include, active listening, verbal and non-verbal body language, and specific words or phrases.
