Course Overview: Designed for beginners and painters looking to reconnect with the foundations of painting, this course explores acrylic painting through observation and experimentation. You’ll learn about colour mixing, paint application, composition and layering while developing confidence with this versatile medium. Beginning with first marks and simple exercises, you’ll gradually work towards more resolved paintings, with an emphasis on learning to look deeply and make creative choices that move beyond simply rendering what you see. Paint will be provided.
Skill Level: Beginner. Also suitable for painters looking to refresh their foundational skills.

- This course takes place at the Belleville Campus: 376 Wallbridge Loyalist Rd, Belleville, ON K8N 5B9
- Campus information, including room number, parking, directions, etc., will be provided closer to the start date.
- A refund (less $20.00 administrative fee) will be issued if you withdraw from a class at least seven days before the start date of the class. After this deadline, no refunds will be issued.
- If a course is cancelled by Loyalist College, registered students will be provided with a full refund. College decisions to cancel a course will be made seven days before the course start date.

Brushes
- Acrylic brushes in sizes 0, 2 round, 4 flat and 6 flat
Palette
- An old plate or a pad of disposable palette paper
Painting Surfaces
- A 9 x 12-inch pad of canvas paper for exercises and two 12 x 12-inch or 9 x 12-inch canvas boards. Canvas boards can be purchased at Dollarama
