Join a Fire & Form class and explore the exciting world of alternative firing! Participate in a variety of Raku firing methods including Naked Raku & Horse Hair Firing. For these methods, it's recommended to use burnishing techniques with Terra Sigillata for better results.

Please Note: Students will need to apply and burnish their pieces with terra sigillata during open studio hours ahead of time. Instructions will be at the Studio: Apply 2-3 coats to bone dry greenware, burnishing between coats, then bisque fire.

Students will need to bring 2-3 pieces of their own bisqueware for raku made of high fire clay, cone 6-10 raku or white stoneware. 

Naked Raku: 1 Bisqued piece with Terra Sigillata
Horse Hair Firing: 1 Bisqued piece with Terra Sigillata

Size Limit: Please bring small-to medium-sized pieces, approximately the size of a mug or bowl. Pieces should be no larger than 6–7 inches in height or width.
