Beginning Woodcarving
Discover the timeless art of wood carving in this fun, hands-on class designed especially for beginners. No woodworking or carving experience is needed. In a safe and welcoming environment, you will learn essential knife and tool skills as you transform a simple block of wood into a finished piece you will be proud to display or give as a gift.
You will learn safe tool handling, proper grip techniques, essential carving cuts, how to select suitable wood, and how to care for your tools. You will then put these skills into practice while completing your own carving project.
All carving tools and safety equipment needed during class will be provided, so you can simply arrive ready to learn and create.
Class #1: Learn essential safety practices, get comfortable with the tools and basic cuts, and begin your carving.
Class #2: Bring your new skills together as you carve a charming fairy door.
Class #3: Add the finishing touches and paint your fairy door to make it uniquely yours.
