Arts Experience at Loyalist

Course Overview: In this workshop, participants will explore a variety of approaches to creating abstract collage while learning about materials, techniques and methods for finishing pieces so they are archivally stable. Working with a wide range of collage materials, you’ll explore design principles for creating interesting and engaging compositions, along with the possibilities of working on different surfaces. Each week will introduce a different approach to collage, combining quick exercises with a longer project designed to help you develop more finished pieces.

• Wednesday, November 4, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
• Wednesday, November 11 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
• Wednesday, November 18, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

• HST is not included in the price.
• Material fee of $25.00 is included in the price.
• This course takes place at the Port Hope Campus: 10 Pine St S, Port Hope, ON L1A 3E7
• Campus information, including room number, parking, directions, etc., will be provided closer to the start date.
• A refund (less $20.00 administrative fee) will be issued if you withdraw from a class 7 days before the start date of the class. After this deadline, no refunds will be issued.
• If a course is cancelled by Loyalist College, registered students will be provided with a full refund. College decisions to cancel a course will be made 7 days before the class start date.

• Please bring scissors, an X-Acto knife, a ruler, a selection of pencils, your preferred drawing tools and any ephemera or collage materials you are personally drawn to.

Supplies Provided:

• Glue and medium, paper for finished collages and a wide variety of collage materials will be provided for you to experiment with.
