Converting Your Course to Blended and Online - Getting Started
Wed, Sep 23, 2026, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM GMT-4
Online Learning (Asynchronous)
A hands-on introduction to converting an existing face-to-face course into a Web/Technology Enhanced course, covering how to decide which activities to move online, restructure content for asynchronous delivery, and maintain engagement without a physical classroom. Participants work through a simple conversion planning template using one of their own courses as a working example. The session closes with common pitfalls to avoid when moving content online for the first time.
Suggested Learning Outcomes — by the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Distinguish between web/technology-enhanced, blended and fully online delivery models.
- Apply a conversion planning template to restructure one unit of one’s own course for web/technology-enhanced delivery.
- Identify strategies for maintaining student engagement in the online environment.
- Compare and contrast traditional instruction and flipped learning.
- Assess one’s readiness to transition to flipped learning.
- Develop a strategy to adopt a flipped-classroom approach.
