Publishing in the Age of AI (with the MIT Press)
As AI continues threatening to disrupt every industry, what does it mean for the future of academic book publishing? This workshop will help demystify the scholarly publishing process and explore the landscape in an era of technological change. Designed for scholars across fields and expertise, this session will offer insights into how to draft a compelling book proposal and equip you with the tools you need to create a monograph with the most possible impact.
Noah Springer joined the MIT Press in 2016 after completing his PhD in Media Studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder. During his tenure at the MIT Press, he has acquired books across the fields of computer science, education, design, communications, digital humanities, HCI, and science fiction, and he now focuses primarily on game studies and new media. Noah is looking for playful and exciting works across these fields that blend innovative research, in-depth perspectives, and engaging storytelling.
