Creative Reuse of Your Own Artwork
Creative Reuse of Your Own Artwork
with Vanessa Rae Brocato
Wednesday, October 14, 6:00pm-8:00pm
Art making is a generative process, and sometimes it is so generative that we just don’t know what to do with all the art we’ve got! So let’s gather and destroy what we have made to create something new. Please bring to be transformed your heaps of sketches, abandoned half-works, past efforts you have outgrown, and generally any works on paper or canvas wanting a new chance on being living art. We will discuss multiple strategies for reusing your artwork, then we will put several into immediate practice. We will cut and collage, and you can offer your cutouts to the communal pile or keep them for your own effort. You can take your two-dimensional arts three dimensional by ripping them up and turning them into papier mache sculptures. We will have gesso to paint over old canvases or turn them over to the group to become something new. We will play with layers and textures and mixing our art up in new and unexpected way
Pre-registration will help us plan, but is not required.
This class will be free and is concurrent with Wednesday Adult Open Studio.
Please let us know if you need an accommodation.
