Description

• Part of a series of regular Wednesday sociocultural activities for a group of international English language learners from Colombia.
• Learners are students of an English Intensive Program at uOttawa, which supports students teaching English in their home country.
• As sociocultural experiences contribute significantly to language learning, the goal of these activities is for students to practice English in authentic settings and communities, as well as to create meaningful connections during their time in Ottawa.
• The goal of the improv workshop is to support practicing English and reacting naturally in English in a fun and more spontaneous context.
• Exercises at the start of the workshop will use simple language, then progressively increase in opportunities for dialogue, to help participants build confidence while having tons of fun!

Date: Two sessions:

● December 9th, 2026, 2-4 PM (for students of the English Intensive Program)

● December 16th, 2026, 2-4 PM (for University professors from Colombia)
