AI and Assessment Series: No Room, No Problem? Asynchronous Courses and AI (ZOOM)
The spread of AI technologies is dramatically and rapidly changing the way we teach and learn. What are the options for adapting assessments to this new AI reality when in-person methods aren't available? This workshop shares approaches instructors are using in online asynchronous courses, including: breaking a large assignment into stages submitted and reviewed along the way; having students record a short screen video walking through their submission and explaining their choices; brief scheduled video conversations about a student's submitted work; and multi-part problems where each step depends on the student's answer to the last. We'll also share information about the Respondus tools available at CU Denver and what each one does. In the working portion of the session, faculty redesign one of their own asynchronous assignments to incorporate a new assessment practice that fits their course.

We recommend identifying an assignment you'd like to work on ahead of time and bringing its relevant materials (prompt, rubric, syllabus language) to the session.

Open to all CU Denver faculty and staff. This workshop is also offered in person on December 8.
