A Tidepool and Seashore Ecology Outing has students personally experience tidepool as well as on-shore life. Topics covered include information/education on the unique adaptations of the tide-pool creatures (form and function), causes of tides and it's effects, basic marine biology, both kelp and shore observance and analyses, and the cultural significance of the area. Of course, time is taken to explore and enjoy the beauty and treasures this Southern California ocean-side park has to offer. Low tide on Friday, February 19, 2027 is -1.6 at 2:29pm, thee lowest tide of the year!
