Meeting Purpose
Reconnect with our school division partners, follow up on priorities identified at our April 2026 ACTE Meeting, and discuss how Shenandoah’s new program options and partnership supports can respond to division needs.

• Revisit the concerns partners identified in April: cost, time, student-teaching requirements, special education shortages, and the need for flexible program formats.
• Share progress on the follow-up items identified last spring and areas that still need attention.

Partner Discussion: Division Needs and Opportunities for Collaboration

Discussion questions:

• Since April, what has changed in your division’s staffing needs or support for provisionally licensed teachers?
• How well do the new eight-week asynchronous options fit your teachers’ needs? What barriers would remain?
• What preparation and support needs are most pressing in special education, particularly Adaptive Curriculum and Early Childhood Special Education?
• Where could SU and school divisions work together more effectively on mentoring, clinical experiences, funding, or communication with prospective candidates?
