College Essay Kickstart Workshop

Mon, Oct 5, 2026, 5:00 – 7:30 PM CDT
Beverly Branch - Chicago Public Library

A focused working session for students who need structure, accountability and a dedicated space outside of home to finally get started on their college essay.

Students will work through guided prompts, reflection exercises, brainstorming activities and personal mapping designed to help them uncover meaningful experiences and possible essay topics. From there, they will narrow their ideas, choose a direction, create an outline and spend dedicated time writing during the session.

Students should not expect to leave with a finished essay. The goal is to leave with momentum: a strong direction, a workable outline and meaningful progress on a first draft.

This workshop is intentionally different from my more intensive summer College Application Boot Camp. It is designed for the student who has been putting off the essay and needs guidance, accountability and uninterrupted time to finally get moving.

Tuition: $100

Registration is required, and payment is due in full at the time of registration to secure your student’s spot. This workshop is capped at just five students to allow for individual guidance and feedback.
