Corrib RIB Run 2025

A casual Powerboat Event on Lough Corrib. Starting at Corrib Rowing & Yachting Club (Galway City), navigating the whole of Lough Corrib to Keanes Pub (Maam) with a stop-off at Inchagoill. Optional stop-off at Ashford Castle (weather / interest pending). The emphasis of the day is 'Keep it Simple!'.

All size boats are welcome, however please be aware of average cruising speed (20-25 knots) and be aware that Lough Corrib can be quite challenging to navigate.

DEPART: 09:30 (Sharp), Saturday 17th October 2026, CRYC Galway. Eircode: H91 R2K4

* Access to CRYC slipway from 7am (Sat 17th Oct) for launching. For those who wish to make a weekend of it and are arriving to Galway on Friday 16th October, CRYC gate will be open between 6pm-9pm to store trailers. Trailers / boats may be stored over-night Friday 16th / Saturday 17th October but must be removed by Sunday 18th October. (Participants are encouraged to launch on Friday 16th October, if possible)

* Drivers briefing at 09:00 at CRYC Clubhouse. Tea / Coffee provided.

* Departing CRYC at 09:30

* Arriving Inchagoill approx. 11:00

-Pack a picnic and take a walk around the island.

* Depart Inchagoill 12:30

*Travel inland towards world famous Ashford Castle for its spectacular views from the lake (weather / interest pending)

* Arrive Maam Valley (Keanes of Maam / Maam Bridge) approx. 14:00

- Refreshments available at Keane’s of Maam. Sandwiches will be served for those who ordered. Please be aware that Keanes is a traditional Irish Pub; the servings are simple but will keep the stomachs lined. If you have a large appetite, please ensure you pack food for yourself.

* Depart Maam 16:00

* Arrive CRYC at 17:45 (Sun-Set 18:30)

Bring your boat and some friends for this great day out!

Vessels should be capable of cruising speed of 20-25knots.

Please ensure you carry enough fuel for 70NM. Petrol station at Keanes Pub but no guarantee of stock.

Charts are not provided but available from a 3rd party online (at your own risk). If unsure of navigation channel, follow designated lead-boat.

Note - this will be a full day on the water. Please dress appropriately and carefully consider if suitable for young children.

Note: Jetskis are strictly banned from launching from club property - this is beyond our control.

It is assumed that all vessels are adequately insured. Lough Corrib is very rocky and requires careful navigation. Charts are available to buy online. Organisers accept no liability whatsoever. Note that this is a suggested casual cruise in company, not an official event.

Monies raised will be donated to Cancer Care West.

Registration closes: Thursday 15th Oct @ 12:00 due to logistical reasons (Food provisioning / arranging boat-yard etc.)

NOTE: On the next page, for 'add-ons' (Sandwiches), sandwiches can only be provided for those who booked. Keanes Pub has a limited size kitchen and will unlikely be able to facilitate people who wish to order on the day.
