Elements of Art: Afterschool Grades 1st - 3rd

Class Description:

This series of 6 art classes for ages 6-9 years old explores a new element of art each week while highlighting contemporary and historic artists. We will create individual and collaborative works of art using a variety of media and learn about line, shape, color, texture, space, and form. We will draw inspiration from El Anatsui, Alexander Calder, Yayoi Kusama, Wassily Kandinsky, and other artists. This class will focus on experimentation and having fun with art while diving into the foundations of art theory.

Students will need a healthy snack, water bottle and art friendly clothes!

Teacher Bio:

Olivia Gray is a contemporary painter based in the Texas Hill Country. She has degrees in studio art, environmental studies, and Montessori education with three years of experience as a Montessori lead teacher. Appreciation for nature is central to her art practice, and she finds inspiration from her home on a farm in Wimberley.
