The Arts House

This 6 week program is perfect for kids who love to paint and draw! During the first three weeks, children will explore a variety of drawing techniques and experiment with different mediums, from graphite to charcoal.

The second half of the course will focus on painting. Each child will choose an image that inspires them and bring it to life using acrylic paint. Through step-by-step instruction, they’ll learn how to build layers, create depth, and develop their painting skills while having fun and expressing their creativity.

Class 1: Values and line weight — sphere and cube studies

Class 2: Contour and gesture

Class 3: Drawing faces

Class 4: Value and colour mixing

Class 5: Wash techniques and the use of mid, dark, and light values

Class 6: Painting techniques continued

Beginner-friendly, no prior experience required
