Pitching Your Story with Creative Tools and AI
Pitch Your Story: Creative Tools and AI for Ventures, Portfolios, and Ideas
Good ideas rarely speak for themselves. Whether you are pitching a startup, presenting research, building a portfolio, or explaining a creative project, your audience needs a clear story about the problem, the process, the evidence, and why the work matters.
This hands-on session explores how students can use Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Gamma, and AI-assisted tools to build stronger visual narratives and presentations. Rather than focusing only on polished final slides, participants will learn how to communicate the full arc of a project: where the idea came from, what was learned along the way, how feedback changed the work, and what evidence supports the final direction.
Participants will experiment with tools for:
- structuring a story;
- creating consistent visual systems;
- developing graphics and diagrams;
- showing prototypes and iterations;
- documenting customer discovery or research;
- building pitch decks and portfolio case studies;
- using AI to accelerate drafting, layout, and visual exploration without losing their own voice.
The session is especially useful for students preparing venture pitches, showcases, interviews, capstones, portfolios, or competitions.
Key takeaways
Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of:
- how to structure a compelling pitch or portfolio story;
- why showing process, iteration, and evidence can be more persuasive than showing only the finished product;
- how to adapt one core story for different audiences;
- how tools like Adobe, Canva, and Gamma support different parts of the storytelling process;
- how AI can help with outlining, editing, visual exploration, and presentation development;
- how to avoid generic, overproduced AI presentations that lose authenticity;
- how to turn project artifacts—notes, sketches, prototypes, interviews, data, and feedback—into a coherent narrative.
