Youth Kathak Classes | Ages 3 and Up

This course introduces young dancers to Kathak, one of India’s classical dance traditions. Through rhythmic footwork, expressive storytelling, and traditional movement vocabulary, students will develop coordination, musicality, posture, focus, and confidence.

Students will explore the foundational techniques of Kathak, learn a beginner-level traditional composition, and receive an introduction to teen taal, a 16-beat rhythmic cycle. Designed for first-time dancers as well as students returning to the form, the class offers an engaging and age-appropriate foundation in the artistic, cultural, and technical principles of Kathak.
