About this Course:

The EMDR R-TEP protocol is applied when a recent event has occurred that requires containment and additional assistance with integration beyond the standard protocol. It is a comprehensive approach to treating recent events in the belief that serious trauma symptoms may be prevented by receiving early interventions.

The protocol contains built in checks to address stuck points quickly while recognizing the importance of meeting the clients where they are and taking it step by step. One-Day Format:

Over the years, we have had many requests from clinicians wanting to take either the R-TEP or the G-TEP as a standalone course. We still believe the trainings are most powerful when taken together, but we are excited to now provide the option of taking the Recent Traumatic Events or the Group Traumatic Events Protocol Trainings as solo trainings for those who prefer to do so. What to Expect:

This training leads you step by step through research validated protocols for working with survivors of recent trauma. You will learn how to assess, stabilize, and reprocess in a contained and effective way. No matter what your circumstances are for delivery of therapy, you'll learn where to start and how to progress through multiple treatment options.

Participants will learn to:

• Identify when Early EMDR Intervention is appropriate.
• Compare the EMDR standard protocol and EMDR R-TEP protocol.
• Apply Early EMDR clinical skills with additional measures for containment and safety.
• Describe EMD, EMDr, EMDR and how each is applied.
• Identify key features and concepts for the R-TEP protocol.
• Use key procedures for the R-TEP protocol.

About the Presenter:

During her 36+ years of practice, Reg has delighted in working with other therapists to create a more resilient and connected community.

Reg trained in EMDR in 1995 and completed rigorous EMDR Trainer Training with Dr. Francine Shapiro in 2008. She went on to become an EMDRHAP and EMDR Institute Trainer before co-founding Connect Training + Consulting. Reg has helped healing professionals across the country master EMDR Therapy through her work as an EMDRIA Approved Basic Trainer, Recent & Group Traumatic Episode (R-TEP/G-TEP) Senior Trainer, EMDRIA Consultant, and former Greater Orlando EMDRIA Regional Network Co-Coordinator.

Reg is co-editor of the groundbreaking book: EMDR Group Therapy: Emerging Principles and Protocols to Treat Trauma and Beyond, through Springer Publications. Reg is co-author of EMDR Group Therapy with Perinatal Trauma in Dr. Mara Tesler Stein’s book: EMDR for Reproductive, Perinatal and Infant Mental Health. In response to COVID in 2020, Reg wrote Levels of Care for the Coronavirus. In M Luber’s (ed.), EMDR Resources in the Era of COVID-19. She also co-developed the Core Competencies of EMDR Therapy (2015) copyrighted. She has also presented at EMDRIA on the topics of consultation, disaster response and Group EMDR.

Virtual Format:

We strongly believe that it’s more important than ever to train clinicians in EMDR Early Intervention Protocols for individuals and groups. These skills are needed. Trainer Reg Morrow Robinson and her team will ensure there is plenty of dynamic energy and support throughout the training, and will share best practices for delivering R-TEP via telehealth platforms. Training materials and handouts will be delivered electronically. Please note this is a Live, Virtual training and includes a significant practicum segment. It will not be available for delayed viewing. Full attendance with camera on and engagement in practicum are required.

Attendance Requirements & Certificates

Per EMDRIA, participants must attend the training in its entirety and actively participate in all supervised practice exercises in order to receive a certificate of completion for their training. Social Workers must also complete an evaluation prior to obtaining a certificate. Those who miss more than 15 minutes of any portion of the training, at any point during the training, may be dismissed from the training at the discretion of the staff and will not receive a certificate of completion, CE credits, or a refund. Certificates of completion will be issued within Connect's learning management system within 5 business days of training completion.

• Course Access: A valid email address and individual Connect Training + Consulting learning platform account are required to access course materials, complete learning activities, posttests, and course evaluations, and obtain the certificate of completion.
• Document Access: Participants must be able to view and download PDF documents and other standard course materials.
