CETL St. Augustine Workshop Registration

Introduces a structured, backward-design approach to building or refreshing a course, starting from intended learning outcomes and working through teaching strategies, assessment and sequencing. Participants examine real course examples to identify strengths and gaps in current design, then apply the same process to a course of their own. Particular attention is given to blended and online delivery, ensuring design choices translate coherently across face-to-face and digital environments.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
• Apply backward design principles to structure a course around clearly defined learning outcomes.
• Select teaching and assessment strategies appropriate to face-to-face, blended and online delivery formats.
• Sequence course content and activities to support progressive skill and knowledge development.
• Apply Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to offer multiple means of engagement, representation, and action/expression in course design.
