How can educators move beyond quick fixes and design learning experiences that respond to real student needs? This hands-on course introduces Design Thinking as a practical, human-centred approach to addressing complex challenges in higher education.

Each day focuses on one stage of the Design Thinking process — Empathise, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test — combining short theoretical inputs with educational scenarios, real-world dilemmas, collaborative problem-solving and experimentation. Participants will question assumptions, explore different perspectives, reframe problems, generate possibilities and test ideas before developing solutions.

Working with shared scenarios and challenges from their own teaching contexts, participants will also explore how Design Thinking methods can be adapted for use with students.
