This CEU will examine how lived experiences shape memory and self‑understanding, and how identity is continuously formed and reformed through meaning‑making. The session introduces the concept of narrative identity and highlights how recovery involves more than symptom reduction; it is also a process of reclaiming authorship over one’s story. Attendees will learn how trauma can impact autobiographical memory, contribute to fragmented or disrupted narratives, and influence how people see themselves.

Through interactive discussion and peer‑centered tools such as chapter‑title exercises, strength‑mapping, and identity exploration, participants will practice non‑clinical, empowering approaches to supporting identity rebuilding. Emphasizing safety, choice, dignity, and mutuality, this training equips peer specialists with practical strategies for helping individuals reconnect with strengths, values, and evolving identities in ways that support hope, continuity, and self‑determination.

Participants will receive two (2) CEU credits upon completion.
