Queen City Comedy

Dive into the fast-paced, collaborative world of The Bat!, a dynamic, lights-out improv format built around character, relationships, and surprising connections. This hands-on workshop will teach you the essentials of the format while giving you plenty of opportunities to play, experiment, and create soundscapes and scenes with fellow performers.

And the fun doesn’t stop when the workshop ends—you’ll have the opportunity (for those that choose to do so) to perform The Bat! later that night as part of the Strange Charlotte Fringe Festival!

Come ready to play, take risks, and discover what happens when you step out of the spotlight and into The Bat!

Your Instructor: Cale Evans is a longtime friend of the Charlotte comedy community, an actor, improvisor, producer, coach, and director (and a professional trainer in his side hustle). He believes in creating a supportive, playful environment where performers can come out from behind themselves, trust their instincts, and discover things about themselves that they never knew before.

Queen City Comedy brings improvisers together through shows, classes, workshops and festivals in Charlotte and beyond. Our goal is simple: build community, create opportunities for performers and put more great improv on stage.
