Treat yourself to a relaxing pottery date at NGĀ ART.

Whether you're coming with a friend, partner, family member, or simply enjoying some creative time for yourself, Clay Café is the perfect opportunity to slow down, enjoy a complimentary tea or coffee, and get your hands into clay.

In this beginner-friendly workshop, ceramic artist Riann Ahmadi will guide you through the basics of handbuilding using pinch, coil, and slab-building techniques. You'll learn how to create a range of cup styles, including a travel cup, mug, or thumb-indented cup, before decorating your work with a selection of colourful underglazes.

There are no strict rules and no experience is needed. You'll have the freedom to explore, experiment, and create as many pieces as your clay allows.

What's included:

  • 3-hour guided pottery workshop
  • 1kg of clay
  • Use of shared sculpting and pottery tools
  • A variety of underglaze colours for decorating your work
  • Firing and glazing of your finished pieces
  • Complimentary hot drinks and cookies

Collection of your completed ceramics once firing is finished (approximately 4 weeks after the workshop)

Clay & Kiln Disclaimer

Ceramics is a handmade process using natural materials. While every care will be taken to ensure your work is handled, dried, and fired correctly, clay can occasionally crack, warp, or break during drying, bisque firing, glazing, or final firing.
By registering for this workshop, participants acknowledge that these risks are an inherent part of the ceramic process. In the event that a piece cracks or becomes unusable during firing, we are unable to provide refunds, replacements, or compensation.
Minimum Numbers Required
This workshop requires a minimum of 8 registrations to proceed.
If minimum numbers are not reached, we may need to reschedule the workshop to a later date. Participants will be offered the opportunity to transfer their booking to the new date. If the rescheduled date is not suitable, a full refund will be provided.
