Stores Induction Overview

This induction is designed to provide employees with an understanding of Stores operations and the critical role the Stores department plays in supporting production, inventory control, and customer service. The session covers key processes, responsibilities, and best practices for the safe and efficient management of materials and stock.
Participants will gain an understanding of:
  • The role and responsibilities of the Stores function
  • Goods receipt, storage, and dispatch processes
  • Stock control and inventory management procedures
  • Material identification, traceability, and stock accuracy
  • Safe handling and storage of materials and products
  • Warehouse housekeeping and workplace organisation standards
  • Use of inventory management systems and documentation
  • Reporting stock discrepancies, damages, and shortages
  • Health, safety, and environmental requirements within Stores areas
The induction ensures employees understand how effective Stores management contributes to operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction while maintaining a safe and organised working environment.
