Engineering Induction Overview
This induction is designed to introduce employees to the Engineering function and its role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and efficiency of plant, equipment, and facilities. The session provides an overview of engineering processes, maintenance practices, and the standards required to support safe and effective operations across the site.
Participants will gain an understanding of:
- The role and responsibilities of the Engineering department
- Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance processes
- Equipment reliability and asset care principles
- Safe systems of work, including Permit to Work procedures
- Lock Out, Tag Out (LOTO) and energy isolation requirements
- Reporting equipment faults and maintenance requests
- Engineering documentation and record-keeping requirements
- Contractor management and site standards
- Health, safety, environmental, and quality expectations within Engineering activities
- Continuous improvement and root cause analysis in maintenance operations
The induction ensures employees understand how Engineering supports production, quality, safety, and operational performance through effective maintenance and asset management practices.
Duration: 1 Hour
Target Audience: All new Engineering employees and personnel who work closely with Engineering operations
