Fall Fiber Retreat

Enjoy five full days of creating, learning, and connecting with fellow fiber artists in the mountains of Tennessee. Led by Suzanne Connors, this fall retreat brings together shibori, eco-printing, and independent study, with a balance of guided instruction and time to explore your own projects. Experiment with indigo, discover the possibilities of botanical color and pattern, and follow the ideas that emerge along the way.

Our home for the week is Quilters Getaway, a welcoming retreat near the Hiawassee River and Cherokee National Forest. The spacious studio offers each participant a six-foot worktable, with shared cutting and ironing stations and design boards. Spread out your materials, leave your projects in progress, and settle into a daily rhythm of making, sharing, and discovery.

Accommodations are included, and food is provided for shared meals prepared together in the chef’s kitchen. Everyone participates in cooking and cleanup, making our time around the table part of the retreat experience. Between studio sessions, relax in the hot tub, gather around the outdoor fire pit, or take a quiet moment to enjoy the mountain setting as autumn begins.

Optional activities, including local excursions (Amish Farmers market, Waterfalls, Apple Orchard, Winery and the Hiwassee River Rail Adventure, will be available for additional fees.

Bring projects you’ve been wanting to explore, techniques you’d like to develop, and an openness to new possibilities. This is time set aside for your creative practice—with encouragement, companionship, and room to grow.
