Summer Shibori Mastery Retreat

Join Suzanne Connors for five full days of indigo, exploration, and creative connection in the mountains of Tennessee. This immersive retreat offers time to deepen your shibori practice, refine your techniques, and develop your own ideas through guided instruction and independent studio work. An introduction to katazome—Japanese stencil-resist dyeing—will open new possibilities for combining pattern, paste, and indigo.

With accommodations included and room to spread out your projects, you can settle into the rhythm of making alongside fellow fiber artists. Demonstrations, individual guidance, and shared discoveries will support your growth while leaving space to experiment, reflect, and follow your curiosity.

Beyond the studio, enjoy a relaxing float on the nearby Hiawassee River, with tubes available for participants. Those seeking more adventure can arrange rafting on the Ocoee River. Food is provided for our shared meals, with everyone taking part in cooking and cleanup—a welcoming spirit of community that carries from the kitchen into the studio.
