This musical intensive camp mounts a full length musical in just 4 weeks and will require students to learn fast, focus and dig into a deeper part of themselves as both actors and technicians. All aspects are produced by the students and staff, from acting to costumes and makeup design to light and sound design to social media and marketing and beyond there is something for every student interested in theatre and how we create that magic. While we can accommodate absences if needed please know that ALL students must be present for ALL of Tech Week (the last week of camp) leading into our performances and strike following our closing show is mandatory. Please note, we can NOT guarantee every student a speaking/singing role, but every student is a vital part of this show and our goal is to create a production that everyone can be proud of. Signing up for camp in an actors role does not guarantee an acting role. Students will be filled into the spaces they are most needed including technical roles which are a vital part of every show.

Available roles: 5 F, 5 M, 3 Any Gender, 15+ ensemble - any gender

Staff: TBA

Directors, Technical Director, Music Director, Asst. Music Director, Choreographer, Asst. Choreographer, Stage Manager, Staff/Teachers

Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score, The Drowsy Chaperone is a loving send-up of the Golden Age musical, featuring one show-stopping song and dance number after another.

With the houselights down, a man in a chair appears on stage and puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The recording comes to life and The Drowsy Chaperone begins as the man in the chair looks on. Mix in two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and an intoxicated chaperone, and you have the ingredients for an evening of madcap delight.

Hailed by New York Magazine as "The Perfect Broadway Musical," The Drowsy Chaperone is a masterful meta-musical, poking fun at all the tropes that characterize the musical theatre genre.

Tuition for camp is $525 per student and we do have tuition assistance available.

A parent/guardian is required to be in attendance for a short orientation the 1st 20 minutes of the 1st day of camp. We appreciate you marking this on your calendars.

Students are required to provide all undergarments and shoes for the production. Each student will also need a basic stage makeup kit. We will be placing a bulk order for these prior to camp. Kits are $28 if purchased through theatre school and will be passed out to students during camp.
