MUG NIGHT
Hand Building Workshop at Rootbound Farms

Your coffee deserves better than a free promo mug.

We're taking clay downtown for six Wednesdays. After Rootbound Farms closes for the day, their shop turns into a hand building studio: long tables, good company, and clay on everyone's hands.

THE EVENING

You'll build a mug from scratch: a slab of clay rolled into shape, a base, and a handle sized to fit your hand. Then make it unmistakably yours. Paint a face on it, add stripes, polka dots or your initials, or cover it in tiny drawings of everything you love.

It's the mug everyone will know is yours in the office kitchen. Or make it for someone else, because a handmade mug is about the best gift there is.

WHAT YOU'LL MAKE

• One hand built mug, handle and all
• A shape that's yours: tall and skinny, short and wide, or somewhere in between
• Color with underglazes, in any design you like
• A durable, food-safe finish once it's glazed and fired

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Everything: clay, tools, underglazes, aprons, glazing and kiln firing at our studio, and an instructor with you for every step. This is a longer session than our studio classes, so there's time to get the shape and the details right.

GOOD TO KNOW

Clay takes its time. After class, we bring your mug back to the studio to trim, glaze and fire it, which turns soft clay into ceramic you'll use for years. We'll text you when it's ready, usually in 2–3 weeks, in time for holiday gifting.

Never touched clay? Perfect. Most of our students hadn't either.

Class size: Just 10 seats. Bring your coffee crew, or come meet a few new ones.
