BERRY BOWL NIGHT
Hand Building Workshop at Rootbound Farms

Rinse your berries in a whirlpool. Yes, really.

We're taking clay downtown for six Wednesdays. After Rootbound Farms closes for the day, their shop turns into a hand building studio: long tables, good company, and clay on everyone's hands.

THE EVENING

This is the most impressive piece of the season. You'll build a berry bowl with drainage holes in the floor and a spout on the rim. Run water into the spout and it swirls around the bowl, rinsing your fruit and draining straight out the bottom. Berries stay in, water goes out, and everyone in your kitchen will want to try it.

Then paint it any way you like: berry red, speckled, striped, or covered in tiny strawberries.

WHAT YOU'LL MAKE

• One berry bowl with a pour-in spout and drainage holes
• A built-in swirl that rinses fruit hands-free
• Color with underglazes, in any design you like
• A durable, food-safe finish once it's glazed and fired

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Everything: clay, tools, underglazes, aprons, glazing and kiln firing at our studio, and an instructor with you for every step. This extended three-hour session gives you time to get every hole, spout and seam just right.

GOOD TO KNOW

Clay takes its time. After class, we bring your bowl back to the studio to glaze and fire it, which turns soft clay into ceramic you'll use for years. We'll text you when it's ready, usually in 2–3 weeks, in time for holiday gifting.

Never touched clay? Perfect. Most of our students hadn't either.
