ANIMAL MUG PARTY
A Private Clay Party at Studio Spoltore

One mug. Any animal. Zero experience needed.

Welcome to the party! Every guest hand-builds their own clay mug from scratch, then turns it into an animal with paint. Cat, fox, frog, panda, tiger, axolotl: if it has a face, it can go on a mug. Six guests means six totally different critters.

THE PARTY

• Pick your animal. Aprons on, ideas out.
• Build your mug. Each guest wraps a clay slab into a classic straight mug and attaches a handle, with step-by-step help the whole way.
• Paint your critter. Colored underglazes bring it to life: faces, fur, stripes, spots, whiskers, the works.
• Sign your masterpiece. Names go on the bottom so every mug finds its way home.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Everything. Clay, tools, underglazes, brushes, aprons, and a teacher who will absolutely hype up every critter. After the party, we add a clear glaze and a food-safe glaze inside, then fire every mug in our kiln, so it's ready for hot cocoa.

GOOD TO KNOW

• Length: 2 hours
• Location: our private studio in La Plata
• Waivers: a parent or legal guardian must sign a waiver in person for each child before the clay comes out
• What to wear: clothes that can get a little clay on them, closed-toe shoes, and long hair tied back
• Food and drinks: none in the studio. Clay and cake don't mix, so save the cake for after.

AFTER THE PARTY

Clay doesn't come home the same day. Each mug needs to dry, then go through two kiln firings to turn into real, sturdy ceramic. Finished mugs are usually ready in 3–4 weeks, and we deliver them all to the party host to hand out.
