This foundational workshop explores the impact that trauma can have on learning, engagement, and student success. Participants will be introduced to the principles of trauma-informed pedagogy and examine how instructional practices can foster safety, trust, belonging, and resilience.

Participants will:

• Understand trauma and its prevalence among postsecondary students.

• Explore the relationship between trauma, stress, and learning.

• Identify the principles of trauma-informed practice and their application to teaching.
