Assessment practices can significantly influence student stress, motivation, and performance. This workshop examines how trauma-informed principles can be integrated into evaluation and assessment design while maintaining academic integrity and learning outcomes.

Participants will:

• Explain how trauma can affect student performance during assessment.

• Identify aspects of traditional assessment that may unintentionally create barriers for students.

• Apply trauma-informed principles to assessment design.

• Develop assessment strategies that maintain academic standards while increasing flexibility and transparency.

• Create an action plan for implementing trauma-informed assessment practices in their courses.
