OSS Winter Gala - Funkytown

Welcome to Funkytown!

We are very happy to invite you and a guest to the 2027 Olympic Sports & Spine Winter Gala. The theme for the evening is 1970's Disco! Welcome to Funkytown!

This year's event will be on Saturday, January 30, 2027. All current OSS employees, current travelers, current students and valued business partners, and a guest are invited.

Annual Award Ceremony

The centerpiece of the OSS Winter Gala is our annual awards ceremony. The awards come with $200 to $1000 prizes. Look for our award nomination process to be announced in November.

Dress Funky!

Kin keeping with OSS traditions, it's time to "play dress up." We are encouraging all attendees to dress '70s Disco style. We know many of you were not around in the '70's but you will have no trouble figuring this out. '70's Disco was colorful, flamboyant, characterized by flared and flowing fabrics, bold and colorful prints, plunging necklines, large collars and platform shoes.

Most Funky!

We will be recognizing our five funkiest, best dressed attendees with $250 Gift Cards. (Hair style will be considered. '70's Disco hair was a big part of the look.)

Get Funky!

While the annual award ceremony is considered the centerpiece of each Winter Gala, it's not always the most memorable...and this year, I think we will be making a few memories.

It's time for the "Disco Dance Off." We are looking for 10 employees to enter the "Dance Off". You will be able to pick your favorite '70's Disco song, choreograph your own dance routine and perform it on the big dance floor with our live band. You can make it a solo dance or get a partner to joint you. A pair can consist of two employees or an employee and a guest.

OSS will help you with props, costumes and ideas as needed. There will be a meeting for all the dancers in December. This will help you plan your winning dance strategy. (Hint: This isn't all about dancing prowess. You have enormous leeway in planning your performance - props, special effects, and special surprises will rule the day.) We can help with all of that.

Like prior years, it is the audience that will pick the winner. Everyone who attends gets to be a judge. We will have a ballot system to count the votes.

Prize?

Of course there's a prize!

The Champion takes home a ridiculously oversized and gawdy Dance Champion trophy. (Imagine it proudly perched in your clinic's front desk as you revel in the accolades that are sure to follow.) Oh, I almost forgot...surely a far less important point. Whomever is crowned the "funkiest of them all" wins a trip for two to Hawaii! (Yes, you read that correctly!) (If you dance with a partner who would not a travel companion, we will work out an alternative prize for each.)
