Mindful Clay: A Creative Practice for Well-Being

When your days are spent caring for others, it can be hard to make space for yourself. Mindful Clay offers an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with your senses, and explore the restorative potential of creativity.

Designed with helping and hospitality professionals in mind, this workshop offers a meaningful pause for those who spend their days attending to the needs of others. It's also open to anyone interested in mindfulness, creative exploration, and making more room for well-being in everyday life.

Taught by Casey Campbell, professional ceramic artist, counselor, and founder of Elemental Counseling & Elemental Studios in Portland, Oregon, this community workshop combines mindfulness practices with the hands-on experience of working with clay. Drawing on Casey's backgrounds in counseling and ceramics, we'll explore how creative practice can support presence, flexibility, self-compassion, and well-being.

We'll begin with a guided grounding practice and sensory exploration before moving to the pottery wheel. Through hands-on experimentation and guided reflection, you'll have an opportunity to step away from daily demands, tune in to the present moment, and discover what happens when you let go of expectations and approach the process with curiosity.

No ceramics experience is necessary. Each participant will have one pot finished for them. Finished pots will be ready for pickup approximately three weeks after the workshop. Shipping can also be arranged for an additional fee.

Come as you are, get your hands in clay, and give yourself permission to slow down, explore, and embrace imperfection.

This is a community arts and well-being workshop, not group therapy.

Workshop fee includes supplies and firing of 1 pot. If you would like to fire an additional pot that is an option for an additional $30 fee.

To cancel a workshop registration and receive a refund, notify us at least 14 days before the start date of your workshop. If we are given the required 14 days notice we will refund your payment, minus a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 14 days of the start of the workshop.
