Deepening Samādhi

A Three-Week Silent Insight Meditation Retreat

Set aside three weeks for dedicated meditation practice in the stillness of old-growth forests and the presence of mountain peaks.

Join us at Copperdome Lodge in Pemberton, BC, for an extended silent insight meditation retreat created for experienced practitioners wishing to deepen their practice in a supportive, uninterrupted environment.

With just 16 places available, this retreat offers a rare opportunity to step away from the demands of everyday life and give yourself fully to the cultivation of inner stillness, collectedness, and clarity.

The Practice: Cultivating Samādhi

The primary focus of this retreat is samādhi—the unification and collectedness of the mind. Through sustained practice, we’ll explore the conditions that allow the mind to settle, become steady, and gather its energies.

With guidance from the teacher, each participant will be supported in choosing the practice most suited to their temperament and experience:

  • Ānāpānasati — Mindfulness of Breathing:Cultivating calm, continuity of awareness, and collectedness through the breath.
  • Mettā — Loving-kindness: Developing a heart and mind suffused with goodwill, warmth, and friendliness.

Private practice meetings with the teacher will provide opportunities to discuss your experience, refine your technique, and receive individual guidance as your practice develops.

Over three weeks, the emphasis will be on allowing practice to deepen gradually, with patience, care, and sustained attention.

Who Is This Retreat For?

This retreat is intended for experienced insight meditation practitioners who have completed at least three seven-day insight meditation retreats, or have equivalent retreat experience.

The extended period of silence and the emphasis on sustained concentration offer a particular opportunity for those who are ready to commit to a more intensive period of practice.

A Rhythm of Silence and Practice

The retreat will be held in silence, offering a spacious environment in which to settle inwardly and give sustained attention to meditation.

The daily rhythm includes:

  • Three formal sitting periods each day.
  • Time to develop an individual rhythm of sitting and walking practice.
  • An open meditation hall, allowing participants to come and go as needed.
  • Evening Dhamma reflections or guided meditation.
  • Private practice meetings with the teacher to support and deepen individual practice.

The schedule provides structure without requiring every moment to be prescribed, allowing participants to find a balance between formal practice, rest, and the natural unfolding of their meditation.
