Ventura Wild Preschool Program

When: November 13 3:45 - 5:45 PM
Where: Hayden Preserve
What: Join us for our third annual Lantern Walk! The Lantern Walk is a simple, reverent mid- Autumn festival bringing an opportunity for everyone to sense the quiet power of their own inner light; to ponder their role as a spark of light in the dark of night leading up to the Winter Solstice. This event, often referred to as Martinmas, has been celebrated since the Middle Ages, and in modern times, within many Waldorf communities. To celebrate, we will gather under Grandmother Oak for a community potluck before we embark on a lantern lit procession around Hayden Preserve, singing songs together. The lanterns we carry symbolize the light we share and reminds us to shine our inner light brightly for all to see.
