MARIE SOPROVICH

We warmly invite you to join author Marie Soprovich for the launch of her new book, Hope Is a Choice: Walking with Cancer as Patient, Caregiver, and Companion.

This special event offers an opportunity to hear from Marie about the inspiration behind her book and the deeply personal experiences and reflections that have shaped its message.

Exploring themes of hope, resilience, compassion and connection, the event will bring together those whose lives have been touched by cancer, whether as patients, caregivers, family members, friends or companions.

We hope you will join us, either in person at the Freud Museum in London or online, to celebrate the launch of this heartfelt and thought-provoking book.

ABOUT THE BOOK

When cancer enters your life, everything changes.
But even then, hope remains a choice.

A cancer diagnosis is never experienced by one person alone. It reaches spouses, partners, children, parents, caregivers, friends, and entire communities. It changes routines, relationships, priorities, and the way we understand both time and love.

When Marie Soprovich's husband, Doug, was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, she entered a world no family ever expects to navigate. As a wife, caregiver, advocate, and companion, she discovered that hope is not denial. Hope is not certainty. Hope is a choice—one we make again and again, even in the midst of fear, grief, uncertainty, and profound love.

In HOPE IS A CHOICE, Marie weaves her own story together with the deeply personal experiences of patients, caregivers, survivors, and families whose lives have been forever changed by cancer. Their stories are raw, honest, and deeply human. Together, they reveal not only the heartbreak of serious illness, but also the extraordinary resilience, courage, compassion, and connection that can emerge when life is at its most fragile.

Whether you are living with cancer, caring for someone you love, grieving a loss, celebrating survivorship, or walking beside a friend through an uncertain season, this book was written with you in mind.

Inside these pages you will find:

  • Honest stories that remind you that you are not alone.
  • Gentle wisdom for navigating caregiving, grief, uncertainty, and healing.
  • Meaningful reflections to help you process your own journey.
  • Conversation starters for families, book clubs, caregivers, and support groups.
  • Companion reflection exercises that encourage hope to become a daily practice
HOPE IS A CHOICE is an invitation to pause, breathe, reflect, and discover that even when life does not unfold as we imagined, we can still choose how we meet it. Remember, choosing hope may be the bravest thing we do.
