Getting started with Claude
Go from your first question to useful work, with a trainer beside you.
Plenty of people have tried Claude, and few have been shown how to use it well. In this hands-on course an experienced trainer takes a small group from first question to useful work: how to ask, how to check what comes back, what never to paste in, and how to set Claude up so it remembers your recurring work. You’ll practise on a task from your own job.
What you will learn
- How to ask Claude for what you actually want, and refine it
- How to check Claude’s work before you rely on it
- Which information is safe to share, and which isn’t
- How to work with files, and turn them into summaries, documents and slides
- How to set up a Project so Claude keeps the context for a piece of recurring work
Modules
- What Claude is good and bad at
- Asking well: context, examples and follow-ups
- Working with your files and creating documents
- Projects: set up once, reuse every week
Who it’s for
People new to Claude, or who have only used it for a few quick questions. No technical background needed.
What you need
A laptop with a Claude account. A free account works; a paid one shows more. We’ll help you set one up beforehand if you need it. Please bring a recurring task from your job, without confidential or client details. We supply sample material for anyone who’d rather not use their own.
What to expect
- A small group of up to six, so there’s time for your questions
- Hands-on: most of the session is you doing it, not watching
- Practice on your own work, or our sample material
- Live online via Microsoft Teams, or in person for your team on request
- Notes to keep
- Delivered by Interfuze, a certified member of the Claude Partner Network
Next step
Claude at work: from rough notes to finished work (intermediate), then Make it repeatable (advanced). Any course can also run privately for your team.
